A meeting of maslikhat deputies to approve the appointment of a new akim of Atyrau Region will take place on July 17, 2026, reports NUR.KZ.
According to the official maslikhat portal, the event is being held in accordance with a presidential decree of the Republic of Kazakhstan dated June 8, 2022, No. 912, which regulates the procedure for approving the appointment of akims. The meeting will take place at 9:30 AM at 58 Abulkhair Khan Avenue, in the building of the Abay Children's Center. Deputy registration begins at 8:00 AM.
Since April 2022, Serik Shapkenov has served as the akim of Atyrau Region.
