The electric Audi A6 Sportback e-tron performance covered 1,338 kilometers on a single battery charge and entered the Guinness Book of Records. Behind the wheel was reigning European Rally Champion Miko Marczyk, and average energy consumption was 7.09 kWh per 100 kilometers, according to infohub.kz.

The record run started on September 11 at 1:55 a.m. Marczyk drove along the Vistula through Kraków, Sandomierz, Warsaw, Toruń and Grudziądz to the Baltic Sea, then returned along the same route.

The car traveled on regular roads in normal traffic, including during rush hours. The average temperature during the trip stayed at 15 degrees Celsius, dropping to 7 degrees early in the morning in Grudziądz. The entire trip took more than 45 hours and ended between Toruń and Ciechocinek after 1,338 kilometers.

Under the WLTP cycle, the Audi A6 Sportback e-tron performance can travel up to 777 kilometers. To achieve the record result, Marczyk accelerated smoothly, anticipated traffic conditions and maximized regenerative braking.

"Even for me, the result of 1,338 kilometers came as a pleasant surprise," the racing driver said.

The model produces 367 horsepower, accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 5.4 seconds, has a net battery capacity of 94.9 kWh, a WLTP range of up to 777 kilometers, a record distance of 1,338 kilometers, and average consumption of 7.09 kWh per 100 kilometers.

In addition, tire pressure was checked before the trip: correct values reduce rolling resistance and help save energy.

The Audi A6 Sportback e-tron is built on the PPE platform and uses an 800-volt architecture. The battery has a gross capacity of 100 kWh and a usable capacity of 94.9 kWh. Maximum recuperation power reaches 220 kW, and in everyday driving the system can handle about 95% of braking.

At high speeds, aerodynamics is especially important. About 40% of the Sportback's energy consumption in the WLTP cycle comes from air resistance, and the model's Cd is 0.21. That is why the Audi A6 Sportback e-tron is called the most aerodynamic car in the brand's history.

Earlier, the hybrid Nissan Qashqai set a Guinness record for distance without refueling.
