The brother of 21-year-old Nurai Serikbai, who was murdered in Shymkent, has posted a video on Instagram showing a TikTok user apologizing to police for his comment, reports infohub.kz.
Sultan Serikbai, who regularly covers the trial over his sister's brutal murder, noted that under a TikTok post, one user left a comment saying: "I would stab her 72 times." He then reported it to the police. The same day, officers identified the comment's author and brought him to account.
The man decided to explain himself. "I am a TikTok user. Yes, I did leave a comment saying 'I would stab 72 times.' However, that comment was not directed at Nurai. Under that video, I was asked: 'What would you do if a girl was stabbed 36 times?' It was in response to that question that I wrote I would stab 72 times, meaning the criminal who committed this brutal crime. As a citizen of the Republic of Kazakhstan, I have never supported and do not support crimes or criminals. I want to sincerely apologize to Nurai and her family if my words caused them pain. I want to emphasize that I never had any malicious intent. My comment was directed solely at the criminal," the commenter said.
Sultan Serikbai added that they see all comments and, if there are grounds, can initiate proceedings in each case.
Recall, the tragedy occurred on January 11 in Shymkent. Sherkhan Aymakhan is on trial for murder, stalking, and coercion into marriage. The prosecutor read the indictment with details of the crime. According to the investigation, Nurai Serikbai was stabbed 35 times.
During interrogation in court, the defendant claimed that the girl attacked him. Also, Nurai Serikbai's father spoke about his last conversation with his daughter.
The murder witness and the victim's brothers also testified in court. Additionally, a former investigator who handled the complaint about the alleged kidnapping of Nurai Serikbai gave testimony.
