From September 15 to October 25, Almaty will carry out large-scale measures to exterminate rodents, reports the website infohub.kz.
According to the press service of the Almaty akimat, the treatment will cover public areas totaling 47,330 hectares, including riverbanks and water bodies, as well as individual residential areas.
The akimat emphasized that owners and managing bodies (such as OSI and KSK), owners of private houses, and legal entities are obliged to independently organize deratization on their premises. This applies to container sites, retail and catering facilities, cafes, restaurants, and shopping and entertainment centers.
Under current legislation, individuals and legal entities carry out deratization on their own properties and territories at their own expense, the press service noted.
The akimat reminded that simultaneous treatment of urban and private areas will increase the effectiveness of deratization and prevent the re-emergence of rodents.
Earlier, in August, Almaty residents complained about a rat infestation on the new embankment of the Esentai River.
