In autumn 2026, residents of Kazakhstan can expect standard working days in September and November, but in October, thanks to the national holiday — Republic Day — there will be an opportunity to enjoy a three-day weekend, reports infohub.kz.
In September, there are no official holidays. With a five-day workweek, there are eight days off and 22 working days; with a six-day workweek, four days off and 26 working days.
In October, Republic Day can be celebrated for three consecutive days: October 24, 25, and 26 (Saturday, Sunday, and Monday). Since October 25 falls on a Sunday, the day off is moved to the next working day — Monday, October 26. The total number of days off in October will be 10.
Republic Day is the main and only national holiday of the country. It was on this day in 1990 that the Declaration of State Sovereignty was adopted, which for the first time enshrined the fundamental principles of statehood.
In November 2026, no public holidays are expected, so rest will be limited to Saturdays and Sundays — a total of nine days off.
Recall that schoolchildren in Kazakhstan will have autumn holidays lasting seven days — from October 26 to November 1, 2026, inclusive.
