As of August 1, the average total pension in Kazakhstan amounted to 197.5 thousand tenge, reports infohub.kz.
According to the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Population, the minimum pension reached 104.6 thousand tenge, while the maximum was 238.4 thousand tenge.
Since the beginning of 2026, as part of the annual indexation, the size of solidarity pensions (payments depending on work experience accumulated before January 1, 1998) has been increased by 10%. The basic state pension has also increased by 10%.
At the same time, the maximum basic pension has grown to 118% of the subsistence minimum. As a result, the minimum total pension (basic and solidarity) amounted to 104.6 thousand tenge, and the maximum – 238.4 thousand tenge.
Consequently, as of August 1, the average pension was 197.45 thousand tenge, of which 54 thousand tenge is the basic pension, 103.4 thousand tenge is the solidarity pension, and 40 thousand tenge is the accumulative pension.
The number of pensioners as of August 1 was 2.6 million people. In 2026, the state plans to allocate 4.9 trillion tenge for pension payments (3.2 trillion tenge for solidarity and 1.6 trillion tenge for basic pensions).
