The average total pension in Kazakhstan reached nearly 200,000 tenge by early August, with more than half of that amount coming from the solidarity payment, reports infohub.kz.

Kazakhstani pensions consist of several components: basic, solidarity, and accumulative. Since 2026, their minimum amounts have been increased by 10%. Thus, the basic pension is currently at least 35,596 tenge, the solidarity pension is 69,049 tenge in full, and the payment from the Unified Accumulative Pension Fund (UAPF) is also 35,596 tenge.

The maximum payment from the UAPF is not limited, while for the basic pension it is 60,005 tenge, and for the solidarity pension it is 178,407 tenge. According to the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Population of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the maximum combined basic and solidarity payment this year is 238,412 tenge.

The average total pension as of August 1, 2026, was 197,446 tenge, including 103,389 tenge for the solidarity pension, 54,034 tenge for the basic pension, and 40,043 tenge for the accumulative pension. The number of pensioners is 2,589,286 people.

In 2026, the state budget has allocated 4.9 trillion tenge for pension payments, including 3.2 trillion tenge for the solidarity part and 1.6 trillion tenge for the basic part.

Earlier it was reported that Kazakhstani pension accounts in the UAPF hold more than 28 trillion tenge, with almost half of these funds being investment income.
