Batumi Oil Terminal in Georgia has resumed transshipment of aviation kerosene for Kazakhstan after an eight-year hiatus, according to infohub.kz.

The terminal, a foreign asset of the joint-stock company KazTransOil, has resumed accepting aviation fuel for subsequent shipment to Kazakhstan. In July, the first batch of JET A1 aviation kerosene, totaling 10,000 metric tons, was handled. The European-produced fuel was delivered by sea via the Black Sea and is currently in storage awaiting rail tank cars for transport to Kazakhstan.

The company noted that the resumption of transshipment will enable aviation fuel supplies to Kazakhstan via the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route, also known as the Middle Corridor. "JET A1 aviation kerosene is one of the main fuels for civil aviation, ensuring reliable aircraft operation and uninterrupted air transportation," KazTransOil said.

The company added that stable aviation fuel supplies are crucial for the development of Kazakhstan's transport sector, enhancing mobility and strengthening the country's energy security. Batumi Oil Terminal specializes in transshipment of oil and petroleum products. In addition to aviation kerosene, it handles crude oil, fuel oil, diesel fuel, gasoline, liquefied petroleum gases, and other liquid bulk cargoes. In the first half of 2026, the terminal's transshipment volume reached approximately 725,000 metric tons.
