Traffic control has been stepped up on the Ayagoz–Taskesken highway in Kazakhstan, with particular attention paid to heavy trucks, the website infohub.kz reports.
According to KazAvtoZhol National Company JSC, which announced the move on its Telegram channel, the additional checks were introduced after defects were identified on the Ayagoz–Taskesken road. The company believes one of the factors damaging the surface is heavy vehicles exceeding permitted weight limits.
"Since October 1, weight and dimension control has been tightened on this route. Four crews from the Transport Control Inspectorate are checking whether freight carriers comply with the established requirements," the company warned drivers.
Reconstructed sections of the highway carry a two-year warranty. Any defects identified during that period must be fixed by the contractor at its own expense.
KazAvtoZhol National Company JSC is urging freight carriers to strictly observe the established weight and dimension limits. The inspections, aimed at preventing premature wear of the road surface and ensuring traffic safety, will continue.
