A Baikonur city court in Kazakhstan's Kyzylorda Region has heard a lawsuit filed by a local woman seeking child support from her own father, according to infohub.kz.
The court's press service said the plaintiff stated that the defendant, identified as Zh., is her father and that she is enrolled as a full-time student and therefore in need of financial assistance. No child support agreement existed between the parties, so the woman asked the court to order her father to pay 25 monthly calculation indices per month — 108,125 tenge in 2026 — until she turns 21.
During the proceedings, the court explained to both parties the possibility of resolving the dispute through reconciliation procedures. The father and daughter then agreed to settle the conflict through a participatory procedure.
Under the terms of the agreement, the defendant undertook to pay the plaintiff monthly child support in the amount specified in the agreement until she reaches the age of 21. The court issued a ruling approving the settlement agreement and terminated the proceedings.
Earlier, in the Karaganda Region, an adult woman also sued her father and demanded child support for the period of her university studies.
