A 40-year-old local woman in Baikonur has been charged with abusing her five minor children, according to infohub.kz.
The Baikonur complex prosecutor's office said in an official Telegram channel that it had ruled the criminal case lawful, brought under Part 1 of Article 156 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation — improper fulfillment of duties in raising a minor by a parent.
"It was established that since the beginning of 2026, the suspect, while obligated to care for the health, spiritual and moral development of her five minor children, to ensure they receive basic general education, to raise them as worthy members of society and to carry out their upbringing properly, and without the right to cause harm to their physical and mental health, allowed cruel treatment of the minor children in the course of their upbringing," the prosecutor's office said.
Investigative actions are currently being carried out in the criminal case to establish all the circumstances of the crime.
