In Baikonur, the prosecutor's office uncovered violations at the district hospital that left hundreds of women and newborns without the entitled "Mother and Child" kits. Following the supervisory authority's intervention, 600 mothers and children were provided with the necessary sets under the guaranteed volume of free medical care, reports infohub.kz.
According to the prosecutor's office of Kyzylorda region, the violations were found during an analysis of compliance with healthcare legislation. Women were monitored at local medical facilities during pregnancy, but after giving birth, the prescribed kits were not issued.
"Facts of non-compliance with the requirements to fully provide newborns with 'Mother and Child' kits under the guaranteed volume of free medical care were established. Female residents of Baikonur are under the supervision of local medical organizations during pregnancy. Nevertheless, after childbirth, the legally mandated kits were not given to mothers," the prosecutor's office reported.
After the prosecutor's intervention, the violations were rectified. "As a result of the prosecutor's oversight act, measures were taken, violated rights were restored, and 600 mothers and children were provided with the necessary 'Mother and Child' kits," the agency noted.
The prosecutor's office emphasized that the identified violations affected the constitutional rights of citizens, including newborns.
