Starting August 16, 2026, the toll for the Big Almaty Ring Road (BAKAD) has doubled. The Ministry of Transport has approved new tariffs, while also offering a 50% discount for those who pay in advance or within seven working days after the trip, reports infohub.kz.
For passenger cars, the tariff has increased from 0.07 to 0.14 MCI, which amounts to 605.5 tenge for a trip lasting up to one hour. For other vehicle categories, the rates are as follows: buses with up to 16 seats and trucks up to 2.5 tons — 692 tenge; buses with up to 32 seats and trucks up to 5.5 tons — 1,211 tenge; buses with more than 32 seats and trucks up to 10 tons — 1,384 tenge; trucks weighing 10–15 tons — 1,730 tenge; vehicles heavier than 15 tons, including road trains and tractor-trailers — 1,903 tenge.
It is worth noting that the tariff depends on the vehicle category and the time spent on the toll section, but not on the distance traveled.
Residents of the Talgar, Karasai, and Ili districts of the Almaty region can still purchase monthly and annual passes. For passenger cars, a monthly pass costs 2,162.5 tenge, and an annual pass costs 21,625 tenge. For other vehicle categories, pass prices range from 2,595 to 10,812.5 tenge per month and from 25,950 to 108,125 tenge per year, depending on the vehicle type.
The new payment system allows drivers to pay half the set tariff if they pay in advance (before entering the toll section) or within seven working days after the trip is recorded. Starting from the eighth day, the debt must be paid in full without a discount.
Individuals can pay the toll via the mobile apps of Kaspi Bank, Halyk Bank, and Bank CenterCredit, as well as through the BAKAD portal using a bank card or other available methods. For more information, call the contact center at 2277.
