In Balkhash, two eight-year-old girls turned a fourth-floor apartment into a dangerous playground: one of the schoolgirls climbed from the balcony to the window of an adjacent room and back while horrified passersby watched, reports infohub.kz.

A disturbing video surfaced online. In the footage, a woman can be heard shouting at the girl: "She'll slip and that's it. Let her climb over now, or she'll get scared and fall. Girl, what are you doing? Climb back in, you'll fall! You'll fall and be killed! Horrible!"

According to the Karaganda Region Police Department, the duty unit of the Balkhash police received a report that in one of the apartments of a residential building, children on the fourth floor were climbing through the window of an adjacent room onto the balcony, NUR.KZ reports.

Officers who arrived at the scene identified the minors. They turned out to be two eight-year-old third-grade students from a local school.

"The girls explained that they were not in any danger in the apartment and that they took the risky action purely for fun, unaware of the possible consequences. Following the investigation, the minors' parents were held administratively liable for improper fulfillment of their duties in raising and supervising their children," the Karaganda Region Police Department said.

The department added that police conducted a preventive talk with the schoolgirls. They were explained the dangers of such actions and reminded of the need to follow safety rules.

Police urged parents not to leave children without proper supervision and to regularly explain safe behavior rules to them. "Even a seemingly harmless game can lead to tragic consequences," the Karaganda Region Police Department noted.
