Spanish side Barcelona began their UEFA Champions League campaign in style, securing a resounding victory over Dutch club Feyenoord in the first round of the group stage. The match, held at Camp Nou in Barcelona, ended 5-1 in favor of the hosts, reports infohub.kz.
Brazilian forward Raphinha opened the scoring in the 3rd minute, and German striker Karim Adeyemi doubled the lead in the 22nd. In the second half, Raphinha scored his second goal in the 57th minute, followed by a strike from Spanish winger Lamine Yamal in the 77th. The visitors managed to pull one back through Dutch midfielder Sem Steijn in the 82nd minute, but Brazilian forward Gabriel Jesus sealed the final score in the 85th minute.
With this victory, Barcelona earned three points and moved into the group of leaders in the standings. Feyenoord from Rotterdam are yet to register a point.
In a parallel match, German side Stuttgart defeated Norwegian club Viking from Stavanger 3-1 at home. Bosnian striker Ermedin Demirović scored a hat-trick, finding the net in the 20th, 26th, and 32nd minutes. The visitors' only goal came from another Bosnian forward, Zlatko Tripić, in the 22nd minute.
