Astana-based hockey club Barys secured a road win over Minsk Dynamo in a Kontinental Hockey League (KHL) regular-season game, infohub.kz reports. The match was played on October 28 in Minsk and ended in a narrow 1-0 victory for the Kazakh team.

The first two periods ended without a goal. The only goal came at the very start of the final period: in the 41st minute, Barys forward Semyon Simonov scored off passes from Jake Massie and Mason Morelli.

Minsk Dynamo tried to level the score in the remaining time, but the Kazakh club held its lead until the final buzzer. Astana goaltender Andrei Shutov stopped all 27 shots he faced and recorded a shutout.

Barys thus ended a three-game losing streak in the KHL regular season.

With the win, Mikhail Kravets' team moved to 23 points in 20 games and climbed to third place in the Eastern Conference standings.

The Kazakh club will play its next game on October 30. As part of its road trip, Barys will face the Chinese club Shanghai Dragons.
