Astana-based hockey club Barys has officially announced the signing of American goaltender Hunter Shepard, reports infohub.kz.
The one-way contract runs through May 31, 2027.
Shepard spent most of his career in the Washington Capitals organization. With the Hershey Bears, he won the Calder Cup twice and was named playoff MVP of the American Hockey League (AHL) in 2023.
This past season, Shepard played one game in the National Hockey League (NHL) with the Ottawa Senators, then appeared for the Belleville Senators and Laval Rocket.
