Astana's Barys claimed its second straight road win beyond regulation: after a 5-4 overtime victory in Nizhnekamsk, the Kazakh team beat Spartak in Moscow 4-3 in a shootout, infohub.kz reports.

Spartak had lost five games in a row before facing Barys. The Muscovites were just a minute and a half away from ending that skid. But the visitors, trailing 2-3, pulled Andrei Shutov for a sixth skater, and Tai Thompson tied it at 3-3 in the penultimate minute of the third period.

With the win, Barys moved up to fourth in the East, while Spartak sits sixth in the West.

The KHL regular season, which began on September 5, runs through March 20, 2027. Each of the 22 teams will play 68 games. At the end of the regular season, eight teams from each conference qualify for the playoffs.
