Fans of the Dark Knight will have to wait a bit longer: Warner Bros. has once again postponed the release of The Batman 2, starring Robert Pattinson. Director Matt Reeves, however, has shared the first test footage from the sequel's set, according to infohub.kz.
The sequel is now scheduled for global release on February 18, 2028. Originally planned for October 2026, it was first moved to October 2027 and now pushed back nearly five more months.
Along with the new date, Reeves released a first test video from filming, showing Pattinson once again in the Batsuit.
Plot details remain under wraps. The cast includes new additions Scarlett Johansson, Sebastian Stan, Charles Dance, Brian Tyree Henry, and Sebastian Koch.
Earlier, it was reported that Pattinson received the script in an unusual way: the document was placed in a special locked safe bag to prevent leaks. Reeves revealed this on the red carpet at the 2025 Emmys, noting that the actor was in New York and could only read the text under strict security protocols.
