Producer Bayana Alaguzova has responded to a wave of online criticism sparked by her post about the differing conditions for concerts by Kazakh band KeshYOU and American rapper Kanye West (Ye) in Almaty, reports infohub.kz.
Earlier on Threads, Alaguzova expressed outrage that fireworks were allowed during Ye's performance, while local artists, she claimed, are not given such opportunities. After a barrage of user backlash, the producer spoke out again on Threads.
"I'm done! Tired of arguing. Kanye is super, he didn't walk, he flew! We don't need fireworks; we're second-class — judging by the feed, most have admitted that. Bravo!" she wrote.
The producer added that she is currently in France and plans to organize a second concert for her protégés upon her return. "I'll start working on the second concert of my 'second-class' artists, naturally without fireworks. I'll be waiting for you in Astana; tickets will be much cheaper because we're our own! Those who doubt our professionalism, please don't come. Keep trampling your own," Alaguzova stated.
Later, Alaguzova emphasized that for the first time she decided to speak publicly not about gossip but about unequal treatment, yet she was misunderstood.
It's worth recalling that earlier commentators urged the producer not to compare KeshYOU with a world-class artist and reminded her of Kanye West's international recognition. In particular, they noted that the rapper has won 24 Grammy Awards.
Earlier, Kursiv reported on the apartment in Almaty that Bayana Alaguzova gifted to People's Artist of Kazakhstan Meruert Utekeshova.
