In the East Kazakhstan Region, local residents spotted a bear and her cub almost in the center of the city of Ridder and filmed them, reports infohub.kz.

Last night, eyewitnesses captured on video a bear and her cub wandering near a neighbor's yard at a private house on Lazo Street. A dog went out to meet the bears, and they hurried to retreat. They climbed over a fence, and later were seen near a store.

"We called the police," eyewitnesses report.

Other reports appeared in city chats since morning. In particular, a Ridder resident said that at 4 a.m. he saw two bears on Semipalatinskaya Street. It is noted that this area is within walking distance of Independence Avenue and Republic Square, that is, almost in the city center.

Another video confirmation was sent from Bazarnaya Street. Eyewitnesses were walking toward the new School No. 12 and saw the bears. Judging by the footage, it is the same bear and her cub. Other videos have also appeared showing the bear with two cubs.

A day earlier, Ridder residents report, the bears were seen in the Talovka area. People photographed their tracks and broken fences. This suggests that the animals remain frequent visitors to Ridder.

Specialists from the rapid response team of the forestry and hunting sector of the Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Management of the East Kazakhstan Region have already arrived in Ridder and begun work. Inspectors will track the bears' movements to scare them off and force them to leave the city.

"The weather in Ridder is deteriorating, snow will soon fall. After the first snow, the bears will come closer to their dens and begin preparing them. We need to wait about two weeks and the animals will go into the mountains. And in just a month or a month and a half, they will go into hibernation," said Yermek Baglanuly, head of the rapid response team of the forestry and hunting sector.
