Kazakhstan's heating season started on schedule, but problems have been identified in the Abai Region with the preparation of Semey's heating networks — the deputy akim overseeing the region has been ordered to face disciplinary action, reports infohub.kz.
Regional readiness for heat supply was discussed separately at a government meeting. Heat supply has now been launched in 11 regions.
"The heating season began as planned. In the southern and western regions, heat will be connected according to schedule and weather conditions. I previously ordered that heat sources and networks be ready by October 1. All regions complied exactly on time, except one," Prime Minister Olzhas Bektenov emphasized.
He was referring to the Abai Region. "In this regard, for the lack of proper coordination and untimely preparation of the heating networks in the city of Semey, I order that the deputy akim of the Abai Region overseeing this area be brought to disciplinary responsibility," the head of government added.
Bektenov instructed regional akims to resume the work of regional headquarters for the heating season, as well as to regularly inspect the operation of energy sources and networks.
"It is necessary to comply with all planned parameters and maintain normative fuel reserves, and ensure the readiness of backup equipment. The issue of coal availability for the population at stable prices should also be kept under constant control," he said.
