In Aktobe, a bike courier struck a 12-year-old girl and fled the scene. The mother of the injured girl shared details of the incident, reports infohub.kz.
The incident occurred in the Sazdy area when the girl was cycling near her home. According to her mother, an electric bike ridden by an adult man hit her. After knocking the child down, he didn't stop and continued on his way. Passersby called an ambulance.
The victim was taken to the regional children's hospital, where doctors diagnosed a fracture of the upper jaw and cheekbone, as well as knocked-out front teeth. The girl underwent surgery and is now recovering, but a long rehabilitation lies ahead. The mother said that dental prosthetics are not possible in the coming years, and implants can only be placed in adulthood.
Thanks to surveillance cameras, the culprit was identified immediately. He turned out to be a 58-year-old local resident. The mother demands the harshest punishment for him. She stressed that her daughter experienced severe shock and pain, and now faces a long treatment.
The regional public health department commented on the child's condition. Head of department Aliya Sharbakova said that after examination by a maxillofacial surgeon, the girl was urgently hospitalized and operated on. All necessary medical care was provided, and positive dynamics are observed: swelling has subsided, wounds are healing. The patient has been discharged for outpatient treatment, with orthopedic and dental care recommended.
