In the Akmola region, police have brought to justice the driver of a BMW X5 who created dangerous situations on the Astana-Burabay highway, reports infohub.kz.
On the afternoon of August 3, a resident of the capital called the emergency line '102'. He said that the day before, on the said highway, the driver of the German SUV had repeatedly grossly violated traffic rules, endangering other road users.
According to the complainant, the motorist erratically changed lanes, cut off other cars, and did not use turn signals when maneuvering. All violations were recorded on a dashcam, and the witness handed the footage to police.
After receiving the report, an alert was sent to patrol units. As a result, the offender was identified. Administrative protocols were drawn up against him under two articles of the Code of Administrative Offenses. In addition, the driver was given a preventive talk about the inadmissibility of dangerous behavior on the road.
In the comments under the video on social media, the BMW driver himself also spoke up. He explained that he was maneuvering dangerously because he wanted to 'teach a lesson' to the author of the video, who was driving in the far left lane at 127 km/h when the limit was 140 km/h and was not yielding.
The BMW X5 driver also said that he filed a counter-complaint against the video author and attached footage from other cameras. According to him, the complainant has already been issued a ticket, but he disagrees with it.
