Emergency workers evacuated two women from Bukhtarma Reservoir after they were unable to return to shore on their own, reports infohub.kz.
The ministry's press service said the distress call was received at 112 dispatchers from Soldier's Bay area in the Altai district of East Kazakhstan region.
It turned out that the vacationers had found themselves in a difficult situation on the Bukhtarma Reservoir and needed emergency assistance.
“Two women were in a boat and unable to get back to shore. Before the arrival of emergency units, bystanders helped one victim get to land and handed her over to an ambulance crew,” the statement said.
Responders who arrived on the scene quickly evacuated both women and their boat to the shore.
The women did not require medical attention.
