The search and rescue operation on the Tobol River in the Kostanay region has ended with the discovery of the bodies of a man and a minor girl near the village of Nechaevka, reports infohub.kz.
For two days, emergency workers from the Kostanay region conducted search operations. On the first day, divers found and recovered the body of the minor girl. The following day, the search for the man continued, and his body was also found and brought to the surface.
During the operation, rescuers on foot covered about 2.5 square kilometers of the Tobol's shoreline. Additionally, a drone was used to survey approximately 12.05 hectares of territory. Divers checked 39,000 square meters of the riverbed.
The search involved police officers, representatives of local executive bodies, volunteers, and the local population. The search and rescue operations have been completed, the emergency department reported.
