The search for a 47-year-old man who went missing on August 15 has ended in the Pavlodar region. Today, his body was found by rescuers in the Irtysh River, reports infohub.kz.

Volunteers had spread information about the search for Yuri Soldatenko, born on July 28, 1979. It was noted that on August 15, 2026, at about 11:40 a.m., the man was on the Irtysh River near the village of Sychevka. Since then, his whereabouts were unknown.

"The man's relatives hope he is alive," the volunteers said.

Today, the regional emergency department reported that rescuers found the body of the missing man in the Pavlodar district.

"On August 18, in the area of the village of Sychevka, rescuers from the emergency rescue unit discovered and recovered the body of a man born in 1979. According to preliminary data, on August 15, he presumably drowned while swimming in a place where swimming is prohibited," the press service said.

The emergency department of the Pavlodar region noted that over four days of search operations, rescuers surveyed 83 km of the right and left banks of the Irtysh River from a boat. Using an echo sounder, they surveyed 16,900 square meters of the water area. On foot, they covered 10 km of the coastline. Divers made 34 point dives and surveyed 3,400 square meters of the riverbed.
