Late in the evening, in one of Almaty's residential areas, a city resident was attacked and robbed of his mobile phone. The incident occurred on Kunaev Street, and the victim immediately reported it to the police, according to infohub.kz.
As reported by the city's Police Department, six patrol squads from the Medeu district promptly arrived at the scene. Law enforcement officers began checking the surrounding area and tracing possible escape routes for the perpetrators.
Soon, the first results emerged: following hot on the trail, two suspects were identified and detained based on their descriptions. During further operational measures, it was discovered that the stolen phone had been sold. Police identified the person who had purchased the device, seized it, and after the necessary investigative and procedural actions, returned it to its owner in accordance with legal procedures.
Both suspects have been placed in a temporary detention facility. A criminal case has been initiated in connection with this incident, the police reported.
