In the Brazilian state of Mato Grosso, the state legislature received unexpected visitors: capybaras. This was reported by infohub.kz.
Last week, capybaras entered the building of the state legislative assembly in Cuiaba, surprising lawmakers who were preparing for a vote. The rodents walked freely through the front door and wandered around the hall. The building is located next to a park filled with wildlife.
Staffer Nayara Bueno filmed the incident on July 30 and tried to lead the animals back to the park. According to her, capybaras often visit here, so they have become accustomed to them.
Capybaras are rodents native to South America. They can weigh up to 80 kilograms. Being semi-aquatic, they live near rivers and lakes, usually in groups. Their calm demeanor and social nature have made them popular on the internet.
The visit of the capybaras caused no damage to the Mato Grosso state legislature.
