The price of September futures for Brent crude on the London ICE Futures exchange rose by 3.11% to $93.84 per barrel, reports infohub.kz.

Earlier in the session, quotes reached $95.47 per barrel. West Texas Intermediate (WTI) crude futures for September delivery on the New York Mercantile Exchange (NYMEX) also increased by 3.19% to $87.03 per barrel.

Both benchmarks are trading at their highest levels in six weeks. The surge is driven by fears of fresh supply disruptions from the Middle East.
