Emma Heming Willis, wife of renowned Hollywood actor Bruce Willis, has for the first time spoken candidly about the daily realities of life with her husband, who has been diagnosed with frontotemporal dementia. In an interview with Hello! magazine, she discussed the challenges of caregiving, emotional struggles, and the unity of their large family, as reported by infohub.kz.
The model and author admitted that working on her book "Unexpected Journey," which focuses on supporting loved ones with dementia, was a significant challenge. According to Emma, the most emotionally difficult part was writing the first chapter, where she recalls the beginning of her romance with Bruce. The constant care for her husband brings about a daily sense of guilt, yet she consciously tries not to let it drain her energy.
The actress's wife emphasized that a strong support network has formed around Bruce. His ex-wife Demi Moore, along with their older daughters Rumer, Scout, and Tallulah, have joined forces with the younger children Mabel and Evelyn. All family members respect each person's unique relationship with Bruce and surround him with care and attention.
Heming Willis also dispelled a common myth that the disease completely robs life of joy. She confirmed that the actor indeed has frontotemporal dementia, not Alzheimer's disease, so he fully recognizes his loved ones. The family continues to joke often and maintains warm, joyful moments, finding reasons to laugh together with Bruce.
