Kazakhstan's top male tennis player Alexander Bublik has fallen six spots in the updated Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP) rankings. Previously ranked 20th in the world, the Kazakh now sits at 26th, infohub.kz reports.
Recall that in October, Bublik ended his season early due to a knee injury. His last tournament was the ATP 250 Almaty Open, where he reached the semifinals.
In the semifinal match, Bublik faced Russia's Daniil Medvedev. Medvedev won the first set 6-3, after which the Kazakh retired from the match due to injury.
Meanwhile, another Kazakhstani player, Alexander Shevchenko, improved his position in the world rankings. He moved up two spots to now occupy 107th place.
Changes also occurred in the top three of the ATP rankings. German tennis player Alexander Zverev rose to the top, displacing Italy's Jannik Sinner to second. Spain's Carlos Alcaraz is third.
