Kazakhstani tennis player Alexander Bublik and American Venus Williams have been included in the preliminary entry list for the mixed doubles tournament at the 2026 US Open, reports infohub.kz.
The mixed doubles matches will take place from August 24 to 26, ahead of the start of the main draw. The revamped mixed doubles format was first tested at the US Open last year, when Italians Sara Errani and Andrea Vavassori took the title.
The preliminary list includes 29 teams. Among the new pairings is the duo of Alexander Bublik and Venus Williams. The 46-year-old American is one of the most decorated female tennis players in history, having won all Grand Slam titles in women's doubles.
Earlier it became known that Elena Rybakina also plans to compete in mixed doubles at the US Open. As last year, the Kazakhstani is paired with American Taylor Fritz.
World No. 1 in women's singles, Belarusian Aryna Sabalenka, is set to play with Serbian Novak Djokovic. Italian Jannik Sinner, who tops the men's rankings, is not on the list.
