The match took place at Turf Moor in Burnley. The visitors scored twice: English defender Max Kilman found the net in the 10th minute, and Israeli forward Manor Solomon added a second in the 72nd. The hosts rescued a point late on thanks to a brace from Dutch midfielder Zian Flemming, who converted a penalty in the 83rd minute and scored again in second-half stoppage time (90+2).
Burnley's new signing Dastan Satpaev was not included in the matchday squad. On August 14, the club announced the signing of the Kazakhstani player on a season-long loan from Chelsea.
