The head of the airline Burundai-Avia earned 53.6 million tenge in 2025, averaging about 4.5 million tenge per month. The company is owned by members of the 'Eurasian trio' families – Mukadaskhan Ibragimova and Nafisa Shodiyeva, reports infohub.kz.
Miroslav Akhtyamov, acting president of the airline, took the position in February 2025. In 2024, the company's president was Boris Em, whose salary for that year amounted to 67 million tenge – even higher.
The airline has its own fleet of 20 aircraft, mostly helicopters. It provides passenger and cargo transportation, aerial construction and installation works, search and rescue operations, and medical evacuation. In 2023, the company purchased eight helicopters for these purposes. Operations are conducted not only in Kazakhstan but also in Somalia, Congo, and the UAE.
According to reports, Burundai-Avia provides services to state peacekeeping organizations and emergency rescue services in countries experiencing conflict.
The company's profit in 2025 reached 1.4 billion tenge – almost ten times more than the previous year. The company is owned by MIC Aero Holdings, which in turn is owned by three shareholders in equal shares of 33.3%. All owners are in some way connected to members of the 'Eurasian trio' – the founders of the Eurasian Financial Company.
These include Mukadaskhan Ibragimova, widow of one of ERG's founders Alijan Ibragimov; Nafisa Shodiyeva, daughter of businessman Patokh Shodiyev; and Eduard Surlevich, described as a nephew of the late Alexander Mashkevich.
Earlier it was reported that another airline owned by the Shodiyevs, Ibragimovs, and Mashkevich heirs – Euro-Asia Air International – posted a loss of 260.6 million tenge for 2025.
