In the village of Belousovka, Glubokovsky district, East Kazakhstan region, a couple was attacked. A 60-year-old woman died, and her 62-year-old husband was hospitalized with injuries, reports the website infohub.kz.

The tragedy occurred early yesterday morning. According to preliminary reports, several intruders broke into the home and beat the residents. They are believed to have intended to rob the elderly couple.

The incident has shocked local residents. Some note that burglaries have become more frequent in Belousovka. "She was a very good woman, I knew her. Our Belousovka has become criminal; we were robbed so many times that we had to sell our private house. I'm in shock. I feel so sorry for the family. I feel sorry for the husband, and for her," said Larisa Gilts, a resident of the region.

Police in the East Kazakhstan region said all available officers were deployed to find the attackers. A criminal case has been opened for the serious crime. "During investigative and operational activities using digital tools and with the assistance of citizens, police identified the suspects. They were detained while trying to flee the region and subsequently placed in a temporary detention facility," said Yerlan Omarbekov, head of the East Kazakhstan police department.

Necessary investigative actions are underway. The investigation is under special supervision. No further information is being disclosed.

The injured man is at the First City Hospital in Ust-Kamenogorsk. According to the regional health department, he has been diagnosed with head trauma, hematomas, abrasions, and lacerations. His condition is assessed as moderate severity, with no threat to life.
