Butadiene, which came almost entirely under Samruk-Kazyna's control after Russia's Tatneft withdrew, plans to raise 543.5 million yuan (approximately $80 million) via bond issuance on the Astana International Exchange (AIX), reports infohub.kz.

Economist Arman Batayev, author of the Telegram channel Finmentor.kz, highlighted this.

According to information published on AIX, the company will issue one-year bonds with a coupon rate of 4.5% per annum.

Currently, 99.999% of the company is owned by Samruk-Kazyna Ondeu, a subsidiary of the Samruk-Kazyna fund. The remaining 0.001% is held by SSAP (Stepnogorsk Sulfuric Acid Plant), a joint venture between Samruk-Kazyna Ondeu and Kazatomprom.

Until February 2026, 75% of the project was owned by Russia's Tatneft. After its withdrawal, Samruk-Kazyna continued the plant's construction independently.

Butadiene is building a $1.1 billion butadiene plant in the National Industrial Petrochemical Technopark special economic zone in the Atyrau region. Once operational, the facility will be able to produce up to 300,000 tons of product per year.
