Bybit Kazakhstan has announced the signing of a Memorandum of Cooperation with AIFC Markets Ltd., the office of the Investment Tax Residency Program (ITRP) of the Astana International Financial Centre (AIFC). Under the agreement, investments in digital assets made by program participants through the licensed Bybit Kazakhstan platform and meeting the program's requirements will be verified and recognized by the program office, according to infohub.kz.
The Investment Tax Residency Program (ITRP) is an AIFC initiative that allows foreign investors who meet established requirements to obtain Kazakhstan tax residency and an investor visa, provided they make investments through AIFC infrastructure. The program already recognizes qualified investors' investments in digital assets through AFSA-licensed platforms if such investments fall under its terms.
For investors, this means a clear and transparent path: open an account on an AFSA-licensed platform, including Bybit Kazakhstan, build a digital asset portfolio, and have those investments recognized under the program through a simplified procedure.
The memorandum is expected to provide a regulated path into the program through digital assets — compliant investments on an AIFC-licensed platform; transparency and simplicity — automated and secure verification of investments between Bybit Kazakhstan and the program office; and new opportunities for international investors — Kazakhstan tax residency and access to digital asset markets in a single system.
"Kazakhstan is building one of the most consistent digital asset regulatory systems in the region, and the AIFC Investment Tax Residency Program shows how this approach works in practice," said Ablaikhan Aubakir, Regional Director of Bybit Kazakhstan. "This memorandum means that investors choosing Kazakhstan can build a digital asset portfolio on a licensed platform and be confident that these investments are recognized within the AIFC framework. This is another step in integrating our infrastructure into the country's financial ecosystem."
Bakhtiyar Tleubekov, Chairman of the Management Board of the AIFC Administration, noted: "The inclusion of digital assets in the AIFC Investment Tax Residency Program is an important step in developing Kazakhstan's investment infrastructure. We are consistently expanding the set of tools to attract international capital while creating a transparent and regulated environment that aligns with global trends in digital finance. The updated program opens new opportunities for investors in the AIFC ecosystem and gives additional impetus to the development of the digital asset market in Kazakhstan."
The memorandum builds on Bybit Kazakhstan's ongoing cooperation with the AIFC. As an AIFC participant licensed by AFSA, Bybit Kazakhstan continues to work closely with the Centre and its institutions to develop regulated digital asset infrastructure in Kazakhstan, and the parties intend to consider further joint initiatives within the AIFC ecosystem.
