Chinese automaker BYD has unveiled a new base version of its electric crossover Fang Cheng Bao Ti 3, known in Kazakhstan as the Leopard 3. The vehicle features a second-generation Blade battery, a range of up to 510 km, and support for ultra-fast charging, according to infohub.kz.
The new version is the most affordable in the Ti 3 lineup, with a starting price of $21,300 (approximately 9.9 million tenge). Previously, the model started at 153,800 yuan (about 10.6 million tenge) in China.
The key highlight is fast charging: at BYD's 1 MW stations, the battery can be topped up from 10% to 97% in just 9 minutes.
Power comes from a rear-mounted electric motor producing 240 kW (322 hp) and 305 Nm of torque. The sprint to 100 km/h takes 6.9 seconds, with a top speed of 210 km/h. The curb weight is 1,920 kg.
The Ti 3 measures 4,605 mm in length, 1,900 mm in width, and 1,720 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,745 mm. The front trunk offers 151 liters of space, and an additional 28-liter compartment is located on the rear tailgate.
For an extra cost, the crossover can be equipped with the DiPilot 300 driver assistance system ("God's Eye") with lidar, capable of autonomous driving on city streets and highways.
Inside, there is a 15.6-inch central screen, an 8.8-inch digital instrument cluster, and a 12-inch head-up display. The front seats feature heating, ventilation, and height adjustment.
Higher-end Leopard 3 versions are equipped with a 75.6 kWh battery. The front-wheel-drive variant with this battery offers a range of up to 620 km (CLTC), while the top version gets all-wheel drive and two electric motors with a combined output of 375 kW (503 hp).
Earlier, BYD showcased the massive Ti 9 hybrid, capable of towing up to 2 tons.
