The BYD Leopard 7 crossover, known in China as the Ti 7, has received two new versions with an increased electric range. The Fang Cheng Bao brand, part of BYD, unveiled the DM Long Range Edition, according to infohub.kz.

Instead of the previous 35.6 kWh battery, the new plug-in hybrids are equipped with a 50 kWh pack. As a result, the electric range on the CLTC cycle has grown to 315 km for the front-wheel-drive version and 300 km for the all-wheel-drive version. Previously, this figure ranged from 135 to 200 km.

In China, the updated FCB Ti 7 is priced at 195,800 yuan (about 14.5 million tenge) for the 315KM 2WD Max version and 225,800 yuan (16.7 million tenge) for the 300KM 4WD Ultra. For an additional 12,000 yuan (890,000 tenge), customers can order the God's Eye B driver assistance system.

The hybrid powertrain includes a 1.5-liter turbo engine producing 115 kW. The front-wheel-drive version is equipped with an electric motor rated at 200 kW (268 hp), while the all-wheel-drive version features two motors with a combined output of 360 kW (483 hp). The all-wheel-drive variant accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.5 seconds.

Fast charging power has been increased from 73 kW to 158 kW. The battery can now be charged from 30% to 80% in 13.9 minutes, which is about 20% faster than before.

The Ti 7 retains its boxy design. The crossover measures 4,999 mm in length with a wheelbase of 2,920 mm. The front compartment offers a 201-liter trunk, while the rear features a side-hinged tailgate and an additional external storage compartment.

Inside, there is a 15.6-inch central screen, a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, a 26-inch head-up display, optional 13-inch screens for rear passengers, a Devialet audio system with 20 speakers, and a 4.5-liter refrigerator.

The front seats with massage function also have heating and ventilation. The rear seats feature power adjustment, heating, and ventilation. The vehicle is equipped with a suspension featuring double wishbones at the front and a five-link setup at the rear, along with the intelligent DiSus-C damping control system.

The new versions are expected to strengthen the model's position in the plug-in hybrid market by offering buyers a significantly larger electric range without giving up the internal combustion engine.
