Official distributor of BYD in Kazakhstan has started accepting pre-orders for three plug-in hybrid models: the Seal 6 sedan, the compact crossover Yuan Up DM-i, and the seven-seat flagship Atto 8. The first vehicles will arrive at dealers in August 2026, according to infohub.kz.

The most affordable option is the BYD Yuan Up DM-i priced at 12.7 million tenge. The crossover is equipped with a hybrid powertrain featuring a 1.5-liter naturally aspirated engine and an 18 kWh Blade battery. The manufacturer claims fuel consumption from 3.1 L/100 km, an electric range of up to 110 km, and a total range of up to 1,100 km under the NEDC cycle. Standard equipment includes an 8.8-inch digital instrument cluster, a 12.8-inch multimedia screen, a panoramic sunroof, a 360-degree camera, 50 W wireless charging, heated front seats and steering wheel, and V2L capability for powering household appliances.

The BYD Seal 6 sedan in Flagship trim is priced at 13 million tenge. This plug-in hybrid combines a 1.5-liter gasoline engine with a 15.8 kWh battery. The average fuel consumption is claimed at 3.4 L/100 km, with a total range of 2,020 km. The model features a rotating 15.6-inch multimedia screen, front seats with heating and ventilation, wireless smartphone charging, seven airbags, a suite of electronic driver assists, and a 504-liter trunk.

The flagship of the hybrid lineup is the BYD Atto 8 at 23.5 million tenge. This seven-seat crossover uses the DM-p system with a 1.5-liter turbo engine and two electric motors. Acceleration to 100 km/h takes 4.9 seconds, electric range reaches 152 km, and combined range exceeds 1,000 km. Equipment includes intelligent DiSus-C suspension, a three-row cabin, a 15.6-inch touchscreen, a DiSound audio system with 21 speakers, a panoramic sunroof, and an expanded set of electronic driver assistance systems.

For the Kazakh market, all three models feature a localized multimedia system and support for the proprietary mobile app. The warranty is 6 years or 150,000 km on the vehicle, 8 years or 150,000 km on the traction battery and electric motor, and 4 years or 120,000 km on chassis components. Pre-orders are now being accepted at official BYD dealerships in Kazakhstan. The first production cars will go on sale in August 2026.
