A 31-year-old resident of Astana has been detained on suspicion of stealing electrical cable worth 21 million tenge from a facility where he previously worked as a security guard, according to infohub.kz.
The suspect has been placed in a temporary detention facility.
"It has been established that the suspect was well aware of the facility's layout, security system, and locations where valuable materials were stored. Using this knowledge, he committed the theft. A pre-trial investigation is underway," the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan said in a statement.
