Eating three servings of full-fat dairy products daily does not lead to weight gain or higher cholesterol levels, according to researchers at the University of Toronto, as reported by infohub.kz.

In a 12-week experiment led by Professor Harvey Anderson, 74 overweight adult volunteers took part. The results, published in The Journal of Nutrition, showed that consuming three servings of full-fat dairy per day had no negative impact on body weight, fat tissue composition, blood cholesterol levels, or insulin sensitivity.

Moreover, participants who consumed more dairy products saw improvements in blood pressure and increased intake of protein, calcium, and vitamin D. The authors attribute this to the "dairy matrix" hypothesis: the complex physical structure of dairy products, where casein and whey proteins are bound to fats, allows for more gradual and safe absorption of nutrients.
