A rock formation known to tourists as a "fairy chimney" collapsed in Turkey's Cappadocia region, killing two people and injuring one, infohub.kz reports.
According to Turkiye Today, parts of the rock fell onto a nearby open-air museum. The incident occurred in the town of Göreme, in the central Nevşehir province.
Nevşehir Governor Hüseyin Kök said the collapse was triggered by a landslide following heavy rains.
Police, gendarmerie, the AFAD disaster agency and medical teams were dispatched to the scene. Search and rescue operations are ongoing.
"Unfortunately, we found the bodies of two people and sent one injured person to hospital. Our search and rescue work at the scene continues," the governor said.
