The Central Election Commission (CEC) has registered the party list of the public association "People's Party of Kazakhstan" for the Kurultai elections scheduled for August 23, according to infohub.kz.

The party submitted its candidate list to the CEC on July 9. After verifying candidates' compliance with the Constitution and the Constitutional Law on Elections, the commission approved the registration.

CEC member Asel Zhanabilova reported that the party list includes 72 candidates, of whom 30 are women, youth, and persons with disabilities. Their share is 41.7%, meeting the legally established quota.

"In accordance with the requests sent by the Central Election Commission to authorized state bodies, we conducted a verification of the candidates included in the party list for compliance with the Constitution and the Constitutional Law on Elections. All persons on the list meet the requirements," Asel Zhanabilova stated.

She also noted that following the 2023 Majilis elections, the People's Party of Kazakhstan received over 5% of the vote and is therefore exempt from paying the election deposit under the law.

After signing the necessary documents, the CEC adopted a resolution to register the party list. Registered candidates were issued the corresponding certificates.
