Legendary singer Celine Dion, despite a severe neurological condition, is returning to a full life and preparing for a series of concerts in Paris, reports infohub.kz.
The star is the cover story of Harper's Bazaar's fall issue, where she candidly discusses her battle with stiff person syndrome. This rare autoimmune disorder was diagnosed in 2022 and caused painful spasms and muscle stiffness, forcing her to cancel a world tour.
Now the 58-year-old artist is actively recovering: three times a week she does Pilates for an hour and a half and trains at the ballet barre. The results are impressive—Dion is again showing excellent flexibility and easily does the splits.
After her triumphant performance at the Paris Olympics, the singer is ready for a full return to the stage. She has already announced a five-week series of concerts in the French capital, starting in mid-September.
Tickets sold out instantly, so her team has opened sales for additional dates in 2027. Organizers promise a grand production that will showcase all facets of the singer's voice and character—from intimate romantic numbers to powerful dramatic hits.
Dion admits that the hardest part of the illness was having to hide and let fans down. Now she has no intention of hiding and is full of energy for new performances.
"Instead of questioning life, I just want to live it to the fullest!" the star shares.
Earlier it was reported that Alla Pugacheva has not ruled out a return to the stage, but feels the time is not yet right.
