The draw for the league phase of the 2026/27 UEFA Champions League took place in Monaco. A total of 36 teams will compete in the main draw of Europe's premier club competition, according to infohub.kz.
Almaty's Kairat failed to qualify for the league phase for the second consecutive year. The reigning Kazakh champions were eliminated in the third qualifying round.
Kazakhstan's sole representative in the Champions League league phase will be Stas Pokatilov, goalkeeper for Azerbaijan's Sabah. The Baku side drew the following opponents: Barcelona (Spain) at home, Arsenal (London, England) away, Borussia Dortmund (Germany) at home, Manchester United (England) away, Napoli (Italy) at home, Villarreal (Spain) away, Slavia Prague (Czech Republic) at home, and Viking (Stavanger, Norway) away.
The results of the draw for teams in Pot 1, including French side PSG, the reigning Champions League winners, as well as for teams in Pots 2, 3, and 4, were published on UEFA's official website.
The league phase of the Champions League kicks off on September 8. The full match schedule will be released no later than August 29.
The top eight teams after eight rounds will advance to the Round of 16. Clubs finishing 9th to 24th will compete in the playoff round.
