On the northern shore of the Kapshagai Reservoir in Konayev, rescuers came to the aid of a girl born in 2015 who was swept away by a wave while swimming, reports the website infohub.kz.

According to the Ministry of Emergency Situations, the incident occurred during a patrol of the water area near the "Almatinskaya" recreation area. The child was carried about 20 meters from the shore.

"A serviceman from military unit 28237 of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, together with a rescuer from the rapid response team of Konayev, immediately came to the aid and brought the girl to the shore," the ministry said. The child did not require medical assistance. After the rescue, the girl was handed over to her parents.

The Ministry of Emergency Situations reminded that children should not be left unattended near water, even for a short time. "Following basic safety rules will help avoid tragedy," the ministry emphasized.
