In Almaty, police have initiated a check after a video appeared on social media showing minors jumping from a bridge into the Bolshaya Almatinka River. The incident has caused a wide public outcry, reports infohub.kz.
The video, capturing the dangerous activities of children, was published on the Instagram page krisp_almaty. The footage shows teenagers jumping into the water from a bridge located below Al-Farabi Avenue, as well as from a pipe. The author of the post notes that passersby often notice children at this location.
According to the description, the depth of the concrete riverbed is only 30–50 centimeters, while the height from which the jumps are made reaches about four meters. This poses a serious threat to the lives and health of young thrill-seekers.
The Almaty Police Department told NUR.KZ correspondent that the public security department has organized a check into the distribution of the video material. Police patrols were immediately dispatched to the scene, but upon inspection, no minors performing jumps were found.
Currently, police officers are conducting additional verification measures, including reviewing footage from nearby CCTV cameras, to establish the circumstances of the incident and possibly identify the minors. The situation is under police control.
Law enforcement reminds of the need to pay special attention to the safety of children during summer holidays. Jumping from bridges and other structures into the riverbed poses a real danger to the lives and health of minors.
