During the City Day celebrations in Ust-Kamenogorsk, more than 50 children got lost in the huge crowd. All were found by police and returned to their parents, reports infohub.kz.
According to the press service of the Police Department of the East Kazakhstan Region, over 120,000 residents and guests of the regional center gathered for the grand festivities. The holiday program featured a bright concert with Kazakhstani artists and headliners — the group Ninety One and the Russian band "Kraski", as well as a magnificent fireworks display.
"With a record crowd, the main task for law enforcement was to ensure safety and public order. Police officers, National Guard servicemen, rescuers, and medical teams served together on the streets, squares, and recreation areas," the police department said.
They added that modern technology became a reliable assistant for the guardians of order: unmanned aerial vehicles controlled the sky. Drones conducted continuous aerial monitoring, allowing real-time tracking of the situation in the epicenter of the festivities and timely response to any changes.
Special attention was paid to protecting the youngest citizens. In the huge holiday crowd, more than 50 children got lost and were temporarily separated from their parents. Thanks to the prompt and coordinated actions of police officers, every child was quickly found and returned to their legal representatives.
"Thanks to the clear coordination of all services, the large-scale holiday in Ust-Kamenogorsk was held in an organized manner, without serious incidents, giving residents peace of mind and an atmosphere of true celebration," the department noted.
